As national finance director of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, Dennis Cheng (he/him) built and directed a fundraising operation that raised nearly $1 billion from three million contributors. He was previously the chief development officer of the Clinton Foundation and its global initiatives on economic opportunity, public health, and civic engagement. During the Obama administration,

Dennis served as deputy chief of protocol of the United States, where he oversaw official visits of foreign heads of state to the United States, coordinated multilateral summits hosted by the president, and served as a primary liaison at the State Department to the foreign diplomatic corps.

Dennis is currently an executive-in-residence at Betaworks, a start-up platform and early-stage venture capital fund in New York City. He is also a founding board member of Onward Together, a nonprofit organization established by Hillary Clinton and Howard Dean dedicated to advancing progressive values by encouraging people to organize, get involved, and run for office.

Dennis is a graduate of Swarthmore College and the London School of Economics and Political Science.
